Having suffered the last two matches, Bangladesh redeemed themselves in the series’s third and final match to defeat USA by 10 wickets and 50 balls to spare. The series ended 2-1 in favour of the T20 World Cup co-host, their first-ever series win against a Test-playing nation.

USA batters succumb to Mustafizur’s bowling

After being invited to bat first in the final T20I, USA openers Shayan Jahangir and Andries Gous provided a solid start to the hosts, adding 46 runs for the first wicket. However, Shakib Al Hasan removed Gous for 27 runs and drew the first blood for the visitors. Jahangir followed suit in the next over, falling prey to Fizz after scoring 18 runs.

The wickets of both openers triggered a massive collapse for the hosts, as they started falling like nine pins. Anderson tried to steady the ship but failed to settle on the crease for a long, departing for 18 runs and leaving his side in deep waters. The wickets kept tumbling for the hosts, and they were eventually bundled out for a paltry 104 runs in exactly 20 overs.

Mustafizur wreaked havoc with the ball for the visitors, finishing with his career-best figures 6/10. He was awarded Player of the Match for his scintillating performance.

Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar lead Bangladesh to dominant 10-wicket Victory

In pursuit of a paltry 104 runs, Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar played with authority from the word go and didn’t give USA bowlers any chance to celebrate as the pair remained unbeaten on 58 and 43 runs, respectively, helping Bangladesh a thumping win.

Both sides made a few changes to their playing XI for the final T20I to test their bench strengths ahead of the T20 World Cup. The co-hosts of the global event, the USA, would be pleased with their performance against a full-strength Bangladesh side.
