The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Tuesday announced the appointment of Dwayne Bravo as the Bowling Consultant for the Afghanistan national team for the T20 World Cup 2024. The former West Indies star will join the team during their preparation camp in the Caribbean.
Dwayne Bravo was a West Indies all-rounder having represented his nation 295 times in international matches. With 6,423 runs and 363 wickets for West Indies, the 40-year-old was part of the team that won T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016. He has also played 100 First Class, 227 List A, and 573 T20 matches for several teams and has won the Champions Trophy, IPL, and CPL.
In addition to this, Bravo has a record 625 wickets to his name in T20 cricket. He also has scored almost 7000 runs in this format, making him one of the top fast-bowling all-rounders in T20 cricket. Due to his exciting brand of play and entertainment on the field, he has earned many fans worldwide.
Most recently Bravo was seen in the role of a Bowling Coach for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, a team with which he had won three IPLs.
Bravo’s T20 experience could be handy for the Afghan team as they begin a 10-day training camp in St. Kitts and Nevis as part of their preparations for the T20 World Cup.
