The 2024 edition of the Global T20 League reaches its pinnacle, with the two worthy finalists set to cross swords for the ultimate glory. Toronto Nationals and Montreal Tigers will meet one another in the grand finale of the competition’s fourth edition at the CAA Centre, Brampton.
The Tigers topped the league table with ten points from seven matches. They won four games and lost just a solitary one, with a couple of rain-washed games. Due to their top spot, they reached the finals after Qualifier 1 was abandoned due to rain.
Meanwhile, the Nationals have been fortunate to come into the finals. They finished fourth in the league table with seven points from as many games. However, they made it to Qualifier 2 despite Bangla Tigers Mississauga finishing third, as Shakib Al Hasan, the latter’s skipper, refused to participate in a Super Over encounter due to prolonged rain intervention. Capitalizing on the advantage, the Colin Munro-led unit toppled the Brampton Wolves by five wickets in the second Qualifier to make it to the finals.
