Kensington Oval Pitch Report

The surface in the Kensington Oval is on the slower side, with bowlers getting a lot of assistance. The medium pacers come quite handy on the surface, while the spinners do get grip on the turf. To deal with the sluggish surface, batters must take their time settling in and playing properly.

AUS vs ENG Head-to-Head

Australia and England have faced off in 23 T20Is with the latter edging past their rivals by a margin of one victory. Australia have won ten matches while England have won eleven and the Three Lions have a three-one lead on their last five appearances, with one game being abandoned due to rain.

AUS vs ENG Top Players Predictions

Marcus Stoinis (AUS):
The all-rounder has been in terrific form with the bat in the calendar year 2024.  He scored a fifty in the last game and steered Australia out of scrutiny against Oman. In addition, Stoinis also turned up with the ball and scalped three important wickets to claim the Player of the Match award.

David Warner (AUS):
One of the greatest servants of Australian cricket, David Warner smashed a measured half-century on a tricky Barbados pitch against Oman in their latest clash. Warner is one of the best players of both pace and spin and has been consistent over time as well. Warner’s experience at the top of the batting order will be crucial for the Aussie side against England.

Jos Buttler (ENG):
The England skipper will be looking to lead his side from the front. After making minute amendments to his batting technique, Buttler has found his form back in the shorter format. He was superb with the bat during the Pakistan series in the lead up to the World Cup. If Buttler gets going, he can be unstoppable.

AUS vs ENG Hit or Miss Prediction

Mitch Marsh (AUS): The Australian captain had a batting average near 70 as a captain before the inception of World Cup 2024. While Marsh is likely not to bowl in the group stages, he can be destructive with the bat at No. 3. On his day, the all-rounder can rip apart the opposition bowling.

AUS vs ENG Conditions-based Predictions

  • Seamers with great change-ups are likely to succeed here.
  • There is docile assistance for spinners.
  • The batters need to be watchful on a slow surface to pile up runs.

AUS vs ENG Match Predictions

The English new ball attack didn’t sound lethal against Scotland and hence the Aussie openers- Travis Head and David Warner can be backed to forge over 23.5 runs (1.85) for the opening stand. Also, the Barbados wickets have been on the slower side, and hence the bowlers could get over 13.5 wickets (1.81) in the contest. The Australian side have a plethora of power-hitters who tend to survive on these tracks better than the English batters and hence they could hit (2.06) more sixes. The odds.

AUS vs ENG Winner Predictions

While both sides seem formidable on paper, Australia is the team high on momentum. Although England won the T20 series against Pakistan, they lacked warm-up exposure in these conditions, and their first game against Scotland was abandoned. Hence, one would expect the Aussies to come out on top in this contest.
