The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is set to be demolished after match 25 of the 2024 T20 World Cup between India and co-hosts, the United States of America. The venue was temporarily used for the bonanza event in the early half, with the India versus Pakistan derby as one of the anticipated matches.
Using a drop-in pitch backfired as the venue produced 107 runs average first innings total. The batters from higher-ranked teams struggled due to the uneven bounce off the strips, provoking debates and controversies regarding the nature of the pitch.

It is also worth noting that scheduling eight matches at the same venue in ten days did not go well with many international players and cricket pundits. Pitches tend to worsen for batting with more regular matches being played. The frequent usage throughout the ten days meant unfavourable conditions for the batters.
As per reports, 30 million USD was used to modify the stadium into a cricket field. After the eight matches are over, with USA versus India being the last, the venue is set to be demolished back into a park.
